Richard Fortey’s book Trilobite! Eyewitness to Evolution gave me the idea for this comic. If you must blame someone for the corny humour, blame him!
This comic introduces the pelagic species of trilobites, that is to say the trilobites that lived in the water column, not on the bottom. Many of them had extremely large eyes. The one you see here is Opipeuterella. You can read more about swimming trilobites at trilobites.info.
After I finished this comic, I realized it was a pretty good metaphor for the really goofy aspects of the swine flu panic.
Credit for the idea of this comic goes to Traumador. Go check out his blog, The Tyrannosaur Chronicles, right now!
