About the Author

I caught the paleontology bug at an early age, but like most young boys, my interest was centered around dinosaurs. Especially carnivores. And most especially, T.Rex. It took a long time to get past that, but once I did, I began to discover the massive diversity of life present in the fossil record, completely outside the realm of massive, terrifying meat-eaters. What really fascinated me was the Cambrian explosion, the so-called “big bang of evolution.” The variety of life was so incredible, and the forms it took so bizarre, that I couldn’t help but be hooked.

And of course, there were the trilobites! The fascinating little devils swept me into their segmented clutches, and I haven’t been free since!
